Sports Dentistry

A knocked-out tooth is a 15-minute emergency with a 30-year consequence. Mouthguards, protocols and pitch-side readiness.

🏅 Overview

What this programme is

Dental injury is one of the most common and most under-managed injuries in Indian school and amateur sport. Hockey, cricket, kabaddi, football, boxing and basketball all carry real risk, and almost none of these teams have a dental protocol.

The economics are absurd in our favour: a custom mouthguard costs a fraction of what treating a single avulsed front tooth costs over a lifetime of crowns and replacements.

What is included

Every time we run it

  • Custom-fitted mouthguards — properly moulded, not the boil-and-bite kind that athletes stop wearing
  • A written dental emergency protocol for coaches, laminated for the kit bag
  • Coach and physio training on avulsed-tooth management: what to do in the first 15 minutes
  • Pre-season dental screening so no athlete goes into a season with an untreated infection
  • Pitch-side dental cover for tournaments where we can staff it
  • Guidance on sports drinks and gels, which are far more erosive than most athletes realise
Who it is for

Three main hosts

School & college teams

Where the risk is highest and the protocol coverage is lowest.

State & academy athletes

Pre-season screening and custom mouthguards as standard kit.

Contact-sport clubs

Hockey, boxing, kabaddi, rugby and martial arts — the highest-injury disciplines.

How it runs

Four steps on the ground

01

Pre-season screening

Every athlete checked before the season, so infections do not surface mid-tournament.

02

Fit mouthguards

Impressions taken on site, guards delivered fitted and checked.

03

Train the bench

Coaches and physios drilled on the 15-minute window. This is the highest-value part.

04

Cover the season

Contactable through the season for injuries, with a defined escalation route.

💡 The 15-minute rule, for any coach reading: find the tooth, hold it by the crown not the root, do not scrub it, and either re-implant it immediately or keep it in milk or the player's own saliva while you get to a dentist. Never in water.
