Six ways to be useful
You do not have to be a dentist. A camp needs organisers and photographers as badly as it needs clinicians.
Dentist
Screening, oral-cancer examination and chair-side treatment where a mobile unit is present. State council registration required.
Dental student
Supervised screening, education sessions and record-keeping. Genuine community-dentistry field experience, with a certificate.
Doctor
General health screening alongside the dental camp, and triage for the non-dental findings we inevitably encounter.
Hygienist
Scaling, polishing, fluoride application and the brushing demonstrations that children remember longest.
Photographer / videographer
Consent-first documentation. Our stories, reports and this website depend entirely on people who can do this well.
Event volunteer
Registration desk, crowd flow, translation, data entry, logistics. The reason a camp screens 300 people instead of 120.
Join the network
One form, once. We contact you only when there is a camp that matches the states and dates you have given us.
What we ask of you
- Turn up when you have committed — a camp that is short a clinician screens fewer people.
- Consent before examination, and before any photograph. Every time.
- Teach, do not lecture. Especially about tobacco.
- Record findings properly. Unrecorded work cannot be followed up.
In return: travel and meals covered at the camp, a certificate for students, indemnity confirmation on request, and the field experience.

Colleges partner with us to give interns and postgraduates structured, supervised community-dentistry field experience — with documentation your department can use.
